zaanse schans - The 'Zaanse Schans' is a characteristic living and working area on the River Zaan, with wooden houses and windmills dating from the seventeenth and eighteenth century.

volendam - Volendam, the old fishing village at the IJssellake, where fresh fish is still brought in on a daily basis. Volendam and its traditional costume, the small houses with gabled roofs and its typical Dike.

't twiske - There is also the possibility to rent bike's in Landsmeer. You can cycle from Colette's B&B to the Twiske nature reserve or make a nice day and cycle to Volendam, Marken or the Zaanse Schans. Colette will supply you with details.

madurodam - Miniature city Madurodam; Holland in just one city! In this miniature city, among many other attractions, you will see the canal houses of Amsterdam, the Alkmaar cheesemarket, and parts of the Delta Works, all replicated in minute detail on a 1:25 scale.

canal cruises - This tour take's you through the Amsterdam canals. Alongside these canals you can see 17th century merchant houses, with their beautiful fronts, churches with bell towers and 16th and 17th century warehouses.

alkmaar cheese market - In 1901 the Waagplein was enlarged for the last time. Before then the square was almost fully built up. Annually about 100.000 people visit the cheesemarket of Alkmaar. From all over the world people come to the cheesemarket.

keukenhof - Enjoy the beautiful flowers Holland has to offer at the Keukenhof. Open from April to May.
